Banned Books Week - No book should be banned.
Books should be available to everyone.
No government should restrict the general publix’s access to books. When books are removed from public libraries, access become limited to those who have the means to purchase them.
And why restrict access to books in the first place?
Control.
The less people can read, the less knowledge they can obtain. The less knowledge they obtain, the harder it becomes to think critically and independently.
Police yourself. Police your children. But NEVER give the government – or anyone else- the right to police your knowledge.
History has shown us where the suppression of information can lead.
If a book is banned, read it. Read it for yourself. Decide what you think. Question it. Discuss it.
Because knowledge is not something that should be controlled. It should be free for anyone to pursue.
Join the discussion online and tell us about your favorite book that has been banned.
